Rep. Miller Statement on Upcoming Vote to Defund ObamaCare, Keep Federal Government Open

Sep 18, 2013

WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Candice Miller (MI-10) today made the following statement regarding the upcoming vote on the U.S. House of Representatives’ effort to protect all Americans from the President’s train wreck of a health care law, and fund the federal government with the current spending controls remaining in place through December 15th.  Miller said:

“On September 30th, the federal government will reach the end of the fiscal year, and Congress must pass a funding bill to keep the government operating and moving forward.  Today, Speaker Boehner announced that later this week the U.S. House will vote on legislation that fully funds the government at spending levels mandated by the Budget Control Act, puts in place the Full Faith and Credit Act requiring the U.S. Treasury Department to make good on public debt payments should America reach its statutory debt ceiling, and the legislation fully defunds ObamaCare.

“I fully support this legislation and will vote for its passage when it comes before the House.  After the U.S. House acts, the U.S. Senate should consider it promptly so that the American people will not face a shutdown of vital government services.”
