Rep. Miller: Measure Fails to Provide Fairness for Americans Under ObamaCare, Deal with Long Term Debt

Oct 16, 2013

WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Candice Miller (MI-10) today made the following statement on the passage of a bill that fails to provide fairness for all Americans under ObamaCare law, and deal with our nation’s long term debt:

“While I am pleased that the government will now reopen and our nation will avoid defaulting on its obligations, I could not support a solution that did not provide fairness for the American people under ObamaCare, and that also failed to take real action to deal with our nation’s long term debt and deficit.

“In the coming months there will be opportunities to address those challenges in a conference on the budget by December 13th, in January when government funding must once again be passed, and in February when we again debate the debt ceiling.  It is my hope that in the meantime the Administration and the Senate begin to negotiate in good faith on our nation’s fiscal challenges and recognize the damage being done to our economy and the American people by ObamaCare.”
