Harrison Township, MI – U.S. Representative Candice Miller (MI-10) today joined with the City of Port Huron, St. Clair County officials, private developers and Baker College in applauding the re-development plan for the Thomas Edison Inn on the riverfront in Port Huron. This public-private partnership will focus on the renovation of the Inn complex into a Hilton Garden Inn, a restaurant addition by the Meritage Hospitality Group, St. Clair County will build a new convention center on site, as well as Baker College will build a culinary institute on site.

“The purchase and renovation plan for the Thomas Edison Inn is wonderful news for this landmark hotel and the community as a whole,” Miller said. “Between the updated Inn and restaurant, to the new convention center, to the presence of Baker College on site, this investment will breathe new life into the area with much needed tourism and education assets. I congratulate all those involved in this public-private partnership for making this new venture happen and look forward to the completed work.”
