Harrison Township, MI – U.S. Congresswoman Candice Miller (MI-10) today made the following statement honoring the 100th birthday anniversary of President Ronald Reagan:
“This Sunday, we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of our nation’s 40th President, Ronald Reagan. I am proud to come from Macomb County, Michigan which was once known as the home of the Reagan Democrats because of President Reagan’s ability to attract people from this community to cross party lines in order to move our nation forward.
“Like so many in the community from which I hail, President Reagan believed in and lived the American dream. He grew up a blue collar kid in central Illinois who always believed that America’s best days were ahead of us. His abiding faith in the greatness of the American people helped to restore our nation’s confidence and allowed us to achieve great things. He built a robust economy out of the malaise of the 1970’s by adhering to fiscal conservatism and his firm belief and steadfast commitment to the cause of liberty brought freedom to countless millions across the globe without firing a shot. On this day we should all celebrate the life of this incredible American. Thank you, President Reagan, for all you did to show us what America can be.”
