Miller Statement on New DHS Color-Coded Alert System

Harrison Township, MI – U.S. Congresswoman Candice Miller (MI-10), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Border & Maritime Security, today commented on the new planned DHS color-coded alert system.

“I am encouraged by DHS’ plan to implement a new alert system that will more effectively deliver information about specific and credible threats to the public,” Miller said. “Our national security depends on an aware public who are informed and prepared to alert authorities regarding suspicious activities. The participation of a vigilant public is vital to making America more secure, and I look forward to working with the department on detailed programs to enhance our homeland security.”
