Miller Receives 'Friend of the Farm Bureau' Award

Harrison Township, MI – U.S. Congresswoman Candice Miller (MI-10) today made the following comments upon being notified that she will be receiving the 111th Congressional “Friend of the Farm Bureau” award from the American Farm Bureau Federation. This award recognizes Congresswoman Miller exceptional support and dedication to the farmers in Michigan and around the country.

“Agriculture is the second leading industry in Michigan and is vital to our state’s economy,” Miller said. “I understand the need to stand strong for this vital industry and the countless family farmers in our great state. It is indeed an honor to be recognized by the American Farm Bureau Federation for the work I have done to advocate on behalf of Michigan farmers – who are some of the most hardworking people in Michigan and committed to helping bring prosperity to our state. In Michigan, we are blessed to have bountiful farmland which our dedicated farmers use to produce a diverse array of agricultural goods which feed our nation and are exported across the globe. The American Farm Bureau Federation’s congressional award is awarded to those who have supported American agriculture as shown by their voting records, and who were nominated by their respective state Farm Bureau and approved by the Board of Directors of the American Farm Bureau Federation.
