WASHINGTON – U.S. Congresswoman Candice Miller (MI-10) joined in the launch of YouCut, a project designed to get every American involved in challenging the way Congress spends taxpayer funds and released the following statement:
“There is no question that spending in Washington has gotten out of control. I have heard constantly from my constituents that they are fed up with the massive new debt being placed on our children and grandchildren, and are frustrated that nothing is being done to get spending under control. We must begin to replace the culture of spending in Washington with a culture of savings. That is why I am glad to join with Republican Whip Eric Cantor and my Republican colleagues to put forward the YouCut project.
“Each week the YouCut project will seek the input of American taxpayers on programs that should be cut to reduce federal spending. Five different spending programs will be presented each week and Republicans will then force an up-or-down vote on the winning issue each week. Those who wish to participate in this project can go to my website, http://CandiceMiller.House.Gov, and link to the YouCut page. I also encourage everyone who visits my website to sign up for my email updates so I can keep them informed on this program and other important developments in Congress and Michigan.
“The YouCut project is a great opportunity for American taxpayers to participate directly in the effort to reduce wasteful spending in Washington. I urge everyone who is concerned about out of control spending to visit the website and make their voices heard.”
