WASHINGTON – U.S. Congresswoman Candice Miller (MI-10) today commended the Ford Motor Company’s announcement to invest $125 million in the Sterling Heights Transmission Plant and will create 130 jobs to support the transmission plant’s needs. Congresswoman Candice Miller made the following statement:

“This investment is wonderful news for the Sterling Heights plant, and is clear indication of how much Ford values the highly-skilled workforce at this outstanding facility. Ford is an iconic American company, and continues to show their strength even in these tough economic times. Ford has shown that they can build some of the best vehicles in the world, top-quality American vehicles. Ford also understands that if you want to continue to build the best vehicles in the world you must utilize the most highly skilled labor and best innovators in the world, and those are found right here in Southeast Michigan. I am encouraged by this continued investment in the Sterling Heights plant and this announcement is proof that the plant will play a key role in the company well into the future.”
