WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Candice Miller (MI10) today released the following statement after learning of the tragic death of Polish President Lech Kaczynski and the 96 other prominent political and military leaders:

“Today, my heartfelt condolences and sympathy go out to the people of Poland and Poles living across the United States of America, especially in Metropolitan Detroit.  The tragic death of Polish President Lech Kaczynski and the 96 other prominent political and military leaders is a great loss to not only Poland but also the entire world.  President Kaczynski has been a tremendous leader and patriot for Poland and a strong ally to the United States in defeating terrorism and promoting liberty and economic freedom across Eastern Europe.  The United States will continue to support and aid Poland to overcome this horrific tragedy.  I join with every Polish American in our community and across our country in grieving for the loss of the President, his wife and those who perished in this disaster.  Their families are in our thoughts and prayers.”
