WASHINGTON – U.S. Congresswoman Candice Miller (MI-10) today made the following comments in opposition to the Democrats’ government takeover of health care:

“As Speaker Pelosi and the Democrat majority in Congress try to pass their government takeover of health care, they have driven Congress into chaos.

“Rumors abound now about a preliminary cost scoring by the Congressional Budget Office that this bill will cost over $1 trillion, which is 20% above their target cost and they haven’t even shown members a bill yet. Other rumors have it that they will allow the Senate bill to pass without even voting on it to try and shield their members from the accountability of the American people.

“The simple truth is that this backroom deal making and parliamentary trickery is just business as usual in Washington.”

Congresswoman Miller signed on as a co-sponsor today of a resolution demanding that Congress take an up or down vote on the health care bill and give the American people the transparency they were promised and to hold every member of Congress accountable.
