WASHINGTON – U.S. Congresswoman Candice Miller (MI-10) today joined with fellow members from Michigan in a resolution commemorate Saturday, March 20, 2010 as “National American Meat and Poultry Day.”
“I believe Governor Granholm made a huge mistake when she urged Michiganians to forgo eating meat this Saturday. Michigan is the second most diverse agriculture state in the nation and we are blessed to have some the best livestock producers in the world,” Miller said. “Our state’s beef and poultry producers provide the people of Michigan, America and many from across the world with high quality and nutritious meat products in addition to providing many good paying jobs. That is why I am so proud to be a co-sponsor of the “National American Meat and Poultry Day” resolution in the United States House of Representatives. So this Saturday every meat lover in Michigan should be proud to enjoy some of our wonderful meat and poultry products.”
