Harrison Township, MI – U.S. Representative Candice Miller (MI-10) today released the following statement in commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Day on Monday, January 18th, 2010.
Representative Miller said:
“In every corner of our nation, we are celebrating Dr. King’s life and the great movement he led for civil rights and human dignity to extend to millions of Americans who had been denied those basic rights. Dr. King’s movement advocated justice and equality for all, and our country is a much better place because of his dedication. He never ceased to love others and never resorted to violence or anger. Let us follow in true spirit of the words Dr. King championed, to not judge others ‘by the color of their skin but by the content of their character'."
